• Plan, conduct and document prototype validation tests, analysing results to provide recommendations for design improvements.
• Ensure prototypes meet all safety, quality, and compliance standards, addressing any issues promptly during the development cycle.
• Maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date records of prototype builds, design revisions, and testing outcomes.
• Support new product introduction by preparing prototypes for pilot production and providing technical feedback to improve manufacturability and scalability.

Essential Skills and Experience for a Prototype Engineer

• Strong hands-on experience in prototype engineering, product development, or related fields within a manufacturing or R&D environment.
• Proficiency with CAD design software (such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD) and rapid prototyping technologies (including 3D printing, CNC machining, and manual fabrication).
• Proven track record in prototype testing and validation, including data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent technical problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced development setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document processes and present findings to multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of materials science, mechanical systems, and relevant manufacturing processes.
