Research Engineer
Report to:
Research Manager (currently located at Autoliv TBO Office)
Position Objective:
- Conduct research, i.e. generating knowledge to internal and external stakeholders, through identification and demonstration of safety needs and solutions.
- The research shall focus on developing tools and methods for safety system evaluations and development based on real-life traffic data and medical/injury data.
- Further focus shall be given to safety needs of Vulnerable Road Users in South-East Asian countries.
- The base working location is in Thailand.
Tasks / Responsibilities: (Main Activities)
- Conduct research under supervision, i.e. develop and maintain a firm understanding of the state of the art, then create and document new knowledge.
- Participate in internal research projects, i.e. understand time, budget and results reporting tools and processes.
- Support writing applications for externally funded projects.
- Collaborate, i.e. interact with project engineers in the Development and Engineering organization and fellow researchers.
Write scientific publications with guidance of senior colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree preferably in Engineering or Science
- English fluency
- Information literacy (know how to find information, assess their reliability and extract relevant information quickly)
- Reading and writing, both expert and non-expert texts
- Project Management
- Statistics
- Automotive safety
- CAE for automotive
- Automotive regulations (UN ECE, FMVSS and others)
- Thai language
Specific Requirement:
- Knowledge about Automotive crash test dummies
- Knowledge about automotive safety regulations and or NCAPs (New Car Assessment Program)
